28th-30th August 2018 - West Didsbury
The DAC Organ Adviser's conference will be hosted by the Diocese of Manchester between the 28th & 30th August at Christ Church in West Didsbury.
There will be three technical sessions. The first will be an illustrated talk on lowering the pitch at Peterborough cathedral, followed by a discussion of the pros and cons of pitch alteration. The second will be a comprehensive survey of winding systems, and the third on the possibilities for amplification of organs. The three leading speakers for these sessions will be Andrew Scott (Harrisons), Andrew Caskie (Nicholsons) and Lyndon Ford.
There will be much else to enjoy during the three days in Manchester. The new Tickell organ in the cathedral will be fully demonstrated, and a dining experience will be provided in the splendour of the 15th century Hall at Chetham’s Library.
Accommodation has been arranged in the Premier Inn at Manchester West Didsbury, which is a short walk away from the conference venue.
