Church Development Plan

A Church Development Plan (CDP) is a new tool to help churches become more open and sustainable.

It’s a three-stage process to help you achieve what you want with your church building, especially if you are looking to increase community, commercial or cultural uses and perhaps share the building with partners.

It encompasses legal hurdles (and possibilities), funding streams and directs you to relevant case studies for your project.

You may also find it useful to look at a business planning toolkit for heritage regeneration projects that has been put together by the Churches Conservation Trust's Regeneration Taskforce in partnership with the Princes Regeneration Trust. The toolkit is aimed at volunteer and community groups seeking to bring new life to heritage buildings and focusses on a crucial part of the process for achieving funding and ensuring long-term project sustainability - the development of a well-structured business plan.
