Policies

The Statutory Advisory Committee (SAC) has adopted a number of policies and a memorandum of agreement to inform its statutory advice on the disposal of specific contents in closing and closed churches.

Bells and Bell frames policy

The SAC adopted the bells and bellframes policy in June 2008 issued by the Advisory Board for Redundant Churches in 2005. The policy is currently being updated.

Fonts and Font Covers policy

The SAC adopted the fonts and font covers policy in June 2008 issued by the Advisory Board for Redundant Churches in 2004. This was developed after consultation with the Church Commissioners in relation to the disposal of contents under bishop's directions.

Organs Memorandum of Agreement

The SAC adopted a Memorandum of Agreement with the British Institute of Organ Studies (BIOS) in February 2012, after consultation with BIOS and the Historic Organ Certificate Scheme (HOCS).
