English Heritage advises Government on which parts of our heritage are nationally important so they many be protected by designation, promotes the importance of heritage in making places distinctive and valued, and advises local authorities on managing changes to the most important parts of our heritage.
It encourages investment in heritage at risk and shares it knowledge, skills and expertise through training, practical conversation advice and providing access to its resources.
English Heritage also cares for the National Heritage Collection of 410 historical places, educating and entertain the public through visits, events and publications.
