Supporting over 16,000 cathedral and church buildings of The Church of England

Cathedrals have an important role to play in promoting green practice both locally and nationally. As the mother church of the diocese and, often, one of the largest and most architecturally significant buildings in the locality, a cathedral can be well placed to test new ways of working and demonstrate a commitment to Shrinking the Footprint. Although Cathedrals face many of the same issues as churches when going green there are also specific challenges. For example, the Cathedrals Fabric Commission for England (CFCE) has addressed the hot topic of microgeneration at cathedrals in a policy note. Read it here.
