Professional Inspection of Building Services and Lightning Protection

An important part of the maintenance of a church building is, in addition to the Quinquennial Inspection, the regular inspection of all the building services. The tests and inspections should be conducted by suitably qualified engineers. The reports and test results should be kept in the church logbook as an important record.

Every Year:

- inspection of all the fire extinguishers

- inspection of the heating system

- visual inspection of the lightning protection system by a lightning conductor engineer

Every Two and a Half Years:

- inspection and testing of the lightning protection system by a lightning conductor engineer

Every Five Years:

- inspection and testing of the electrical installations by a NICEIC, ECA or NAPIT registered electrician
