OLYMPIC FAITH WALKS AROUND LONDON

Over 40 churches taking part in Olympic Faith Walks across London

To celebrate the London Olympics and Paralympic Games, the Diocese of London have created a series of 'Faith Walks'. Over 40 churches are participating and almost all will open daily from 27 July to 9 September 2012.

Visitors can start at one of six Olympic venues and follow the walks into central London, via various interesting churches on a 3-4 mile trail.

From iconic Baroque churches to the confident new architecture of the industrial era, London’s church buildings exhibit a striking variety of styles. Through their history they record the life of the changing communities of the capital, from Chelsea to Spitalfields.

Whether you want to meet local people, discover beautiful art and design or simply pause and reflect, come and be refreshed in these houses of prayer.

Entrance to all the buildings on the routes is free, with illustrated booklets of the walks available at participating churches. For more details and free downloads visit www.london.anglican.org/walking-routes
