Cash from DCMS to support new facilities
The Church Buildings Council has awarded grants of £781,000 for new work in churches.
This is part of a one-off £1.1m grant scheme to support listed places of worship. The Church of England has received £781,000 from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), which it has offered to 87 schemes across its 42 mainland dioceses.
These grants will allow listed places of worship across the country to create new extensions and facilities, including toilets and kitchens, and to improve access and energy efficiency.
The 88 successful schemes were nominated by the dioceses and the scheme is being administered by the Cathedral and Church Buildings Division. A list of the grants awarded is available below.
