We are delighted to welcome Becky Clark as the new Director of ChurchCare from the beginning of 2017.
Becky has been Senior Cathedrals Officer in the Cathedral and Church Buildings Division since 2013 and formerly worked at English Heritage, Surrey County Council and the National Trust.
In her new role Becky will be Secretary to both the Cathedrals Fabric Commission for England (CFCE) and Church Buildings Council (CBC) as well as a member of the Archbishops' Council senior management team and the NCI Senior Leadership Group (SLG).
Secretary General, William Nye, said: 'I know that Becky's wealth of experience working in the heritage sector, leadership qualities, personal faith and her commitment to church buildings, equip her admirably to support the Church as it is transformed through Renewal and Reform.'
Becky was appointed from a field of external and internal candidates by a panel including members of the CFCE and CBC. Becky will start in her new role in January.
A lifelong Christian, Becky worships at a church near her home in South London. Becky trained as an archaeologist at Oxford University and holds a Masters in Heritage Management from the University of Birmingham. She is currently completing an MBA through Warwick Business School with a dissertation studying models of Church leadership.
"I am honoured to have been offered this opportunity and excited about the opportunities it presents to support the incredible work churches and cathedrals are doing to further mission, support and foster communities, and provide salt and light to the world.
"As a historian I know that England's churches and cathedrals represent a unique shared history and experience, and as a Christian I see that these buildings continue to offer many ways to tell people the good news of Christ. It is by respecting and embracing both of these aspects that we can demonstrate the relevance, importance and joyfulness of churches well into the future."
